Why is it called a hamburger….?

if there’s no ham in it???

because the patties were first made & served in Hamburg, Germany…when the meat patty came to the US someone, supposedly some guy in New York, coined the term Hamburger since it came from Hamburg, Germany

……..

The roots of it deal with the city of Hamburg, o’ course

It is really beef and buns, but it developed in hamburg Germany, same thing with buffalo wings just spicy chicken from buffalo new york

……..

apparently it was named after the Earl of Hamburg in England who was such a prolific gambler that he told his servant one day to put the meat inbetween 2 slices of bread so he could hold his food in one hand and have the other one free, and voila!
