All of us have seen lecterns in our schools and colleges. They are nothing but a form of reading desk having a slanted top fixed to a stand and can be used by a speaker who has to give a speech standing. The documents and files from where the person has to read out is placed on top of the lectern so that the speaker can read aloud from it in a convenient way. Different materials are used to build lecterns but the traditional material used is wood. Wooden lecterns look very elegant for use in sophisticated functions and in churches.
