Buy a Airplane

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

Where would you go to buy a airplane? I think that the Internet is the best place. Firstly you can use it to search around and see what is available. Then you can use it to read reviews of the various planes and which is the best. Then you can use it to communicate with the seller and find out about the plane that they have for sale. The Internet is wonderful for bringing buyers and seller together like this and it can mean that you have far more choice available to you than you would have had if you were just relying on magazine and newspaper advertisements.

It is amazing how many websites there are with used airplanes on them. It is great to have such a good selection as it can be a really big decision, knowing which to choose. Anyone who has tried to buy aircraft before will understand why it is important to get exactly the right one and to find out all about it before you buy it. With on line reviews of things, it is easier to decide which of them would be the best model to buy and then you just have to find out which specific one, that is for sale, will be the best for you to buy for yourself.

Special Functionalities - Trail camera & Digital rangefinder

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

Trail cameras are popular for its much new functionality. One such feature is the time lapse function. In this we just need to place the camera in a position and program it to take pictures in some time intervals. This feature is widely used nowadays in many wild life channels which show various stages of growth of animals or even for plants. This feature is used based on the imagination of the user. The normal video where this technology is used is to capture a pupa becoming a butterfly. This shows the users talent and creative ability. Digital rangefinder cameras work on digital imaging technology. This technology was applied for range finder cameras in 2004. Epson RD1 is the first digital rangefinder camera, which is actually collaboration between Epson and Casino. Most of the digital rangefinder cameras have the same interchangeable lens used on their film or non digital counterparts. Most of the digital rangefinder cameras are expensive when compared to SLRS. There are some advantages and disadvantages of digital rangefinder cameras over SLR cameras. There is no moving mirror in the Digital rangefinder cameras so the momentary black out are avoided making it more prominent in the film industry.

Is there an age requirement for riding electric scooters?

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

I wanted to get a Mongoose M200 (http://urbanscooters.com/P/Electric-Scoo… I was wondering if there is an age requirement or if I need a license to ride around my neighborhood. BTW, I’m in the US.

nope, as long as it’s not gas. Just don’t ride it in the street if there are a bunch of cars, and be careful!

It depends on the state and the type of scooter. If you’re talking about something like a moped, then in some cases you need a license, but it depends. Check with your local DMV (see link below).

Why is it that overcast days will delay a flight? Can’t they use the same technology they use at night?

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

to see the incoming air traffic? Morning overcast are notorius for the domino effect delays at SFO

Overcast by itself will not cause a delay. At SFO, the problem is fog. Fog, which is essentially a cloud resting on the ground, can reduce visibility to almost zero, and there is NO technology that will allow a landing in such conditions for most flights.

Fog is a frequent problem at many airports in addition to SFO, and can occur at almost any airport.

Cloudy conditions are often associated with other kinds of bad weather: thunderstorms, wind shear, ice, tornadoes, and other things that will require flights to be delayed or diverted.

Night flight is often in the best of conditions. There is nothing more beautiful than flying across inhabited lands, forests, deserts, lakes, and seas at night in good visibility.

retired airline captain

…………..

if you mean the fog at SFO…visibility on the ground is way, way better at night

even with state of the art radar, you still want someone watching what’s happening on the ground

……………..

Because the rules for ATC seperation change when the visibility changes. A greater spacing is required so it takes longer to get the same amount of departures out.

How should i hook up my subs?

Saturday, July 19th, 2008

i have 2 12″ TYPE-R SWR-1222D alpine 2 ohm subs. ive heard that the lower the impedance the lower sound quality it is, but i know lower ohm means more power. i want to hook them up to a mono amp and get either a 2 or 4 ohm load because i’m assuming that would be better quality than 1 ohm should i wire them in series to get a 4 ohm load or buy one of those amps with 2 plus and minus ports and hook them up regular , i think that will give me a 2 ohm load. someone just help me out

Im almost postive those are dual voice coil, which means, since there 2 ohm, youre only options are .5 ohm and 2 ohm (or 8 ohm but who wants that). Since theres just about zero amps made that are stable to a half ohm, ur gonna have to go with 2 ohm. If you get a mono amp with one set of terminals, do this http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/lear…
If you get a mono amp with 2 sets of terminals, then just wire terminal 1 to the first sub in series. Then wire terminal 2 to the second sub in series. Both have four ohms but the amp sees them in parallel so u will get a 2 ohm load

………..

I would just wire them down to a lower impedance. output is more important than a slight percieved improvement in quality. (usually the lower the impedance the higher the distortion of the amp, but in a subwoofer you wont really hear it). If it were me I would get one mono amp and hook up both subs for a 1 ohm impedance (if they were svc woofers.) if they are dvc woofers then you will have to go with like .5 ohms or 2 ohms I believe.

basically lower impedance means more power with a little more distortion, but its not really audible. so go for it.

for wiring diagrams look for some on crutchfield if you need help. im too lazy to go find them and send u a direct link. but you shouldn’t have any trouble looking. plus i dont know how many woofers you’re trying to run or how many coils they all have

Anyone else notice how often our automobiles are used to transport all of one solitary person—the driver?

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Riding my motorbike around, I noticed that most vehicles only cab one person. DO YOU THINK that people would be interested in driving one passenger motorized mini-cars, if there was some sort of incentive to do so? The savings would be incredible! I can picture a small 3 wheel deal with electric motor and small propane heater that would cost one a thousand bucks or so. It would be a wee bit smaller than a trike motorcycle and include a good fabric covering. Would you drive one of these things and leave the family car at home if all you are doing is commuting (alone) from home to work?

The superstructure could be built to any degree of sophistication; One could have a trike covered in a smooth carbon fibre on aluminum frame. Winter would not pose a problem and traction would be better than a rear wheel drive vehicle. The “winter” shell l could be made available as a retrofit or option, or as money is available. One could have several different shells, all extremely light weight, of varying color and the structure would be “arched” in such a way as to offer superior compression strength. I’m thinking 15 horsepower with maximum speeds of 55 mph! Would you buy one of these for a grand (base model) and pay 3 grand (or so) for add on shell?

That would be great in nice weather, but in the rain, show, high wind, and for the handicapped, it would not.

………..

lets see, NO! where I live it gets 20 below zero in winter, many days and night fowl weather and icy unplowed roads.
As you’ve noted, many folks driving alone. Thats because, of varied work locations and schedules. I drive 70 miles a day to work, and live less than a mile from a co worker. we acn’t car pool because of our differing and variable shifts. Some times he has to be in early and me late, some times I have to work hours late and he doesn’t. It’s just the way america is. good idea though, keep thinking.

Enhance Your Dodge Truck with Nerf Bars and Bed Rails

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

Have you just bought your own Dodge truck? Congratulations! It certainly is a wise investment and you are ensured of great quality. Now, you can enjoy the spacious interior of your own Dodge truck together with tuned steering and strong brakes. You can think of further enhancing the appeal and functionality of your truck by attaching a nerf bar to it.

Actually aside from nerf bars, there are still other truck accessories that you can install in order to further enhance the appeal of your truck. For instance, you should look into the various truck bed rails being sold online or locally.

Dodge nerf bars, including bed rails, are great truck accessories. With a nerf bar, you will be able to climb up or step out of your truck just as easily. With nerf bars, you’d be able to avoid truck damage caused by debris or flying rocks. Most nerf bars are made of 3 or 4-inch aluminum or stainless steel. They are also wrapped with non-slip step pads. You can find nerf bars in various styles – some with black powder coats, others with polished mirror finish and there are those that come in thick chrome plating.

When choosing Dodge nerf bars, you have to take into consideration the truck’s design and its other accessories. If most of the parts of your truck are made of chrome, then it’s a good idea to get a chrome nerf bar. The same goes when you’re specifically looking for truck bed rails.

How do stoplights detect a car?

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

In most municpalities, its called a magnetic sensing loop, there is one aproximately 1/4 mile from the signal, and 2 or 3 closer to the light in each lane. You may have noticed a black stop sign shaped marking (or in some cities a circle) in the roadway. This is where they have cut into the concrete or asphalt and laid in a magnetic loop (the black stuff is a sealer to keep the rain from rusting it). As your car passes over it, it sends a magnetic pulse (from the metal in your car or motorcycle) thru an underground cableing system to a computer terminal at the intersection (usually housed near the intersection in a large metal box on one corner), signaling that a car is coming from a certain direction. This is how a turn lane signal knows when to activate the turn signal for you. As for the length of a green or yellow or red light is dependant on timers in the computer terminal and some areas are need based. You ever wonder why you fly down the highway and the light turns yellow as soon as you hit the first crosswalk? This is how. As for your headlights, it is a common myth that flashing your headlights will trigger a signal to change for you. This is false. Their is a system used by police, firefighters, ambulances as such called an Opti-Com or Opti-Flash, which is a traffic signal preemption device that sends out a coded digital white strobe flash at a certain flash rate and candlepower, much faster and brighter than any headlight. This light is read by a small sensor usually on the traffic light pole and sent to the computer to trigger a green light for the emergency responders so they dont have to wait in traffic while the other 3 sides have red lights (this is why it seems like your light got skipped when a fire engine went through, its just the computer resetting itself into its normal pattern)
