The Baby Girl

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

Most of the families who are illiterate are not very happy when a girl child is born in the family however the arrival of the girl child in the family is an occasion to be happy and to be enjoyed. Girls are god’s gifts to mankind as, if there were no girls I do not know how many of us would be born. Girl baby names are plenty and parents can choose names from Greek history to the Hindu mythology for the tender newborn girl babies. Names like Hannah, Anna, Sarah, Lyla, Michelle, Deborah, Neha, Salva etc are few of the names from the list of girl baby names that have been in circulation all over the world. Irish baby names are becoming popular today as these Gaelic rooted names have a lot of meaning and substance behind them. Eileen, Niamh, Aisling Siobhan etc are few of the Irish baby names that are popular these days.

Sex during pregnancy is a highly debated topic as there are many question like is sex during pregnancy safe? Will the baby be harmed? Which position is the safest to have sex? Etc. etc. The questions re many but the main aspect to take under consideration before you try to have sex during pregnancy is the doctor’s advice as some women are more likely to have a premature birth condition and some might even suffer a miscarriage. Once the doctor gives a green signal it is safe to have sex but remember not to overdo it as it may cause complications during pregnancy.

Interesting Learning

I have been researching all about PCB Manufacturing for a project that I am doing at college and it is turning out to be much more interesting than I thought. As a girl, I do sometimes find some of the more technical aspects of my course a bit dull, but I decided to do this project to try to improve my understanding about the multilayer PCB and about how they are made and how they work. I think that it is important to remain open minded and to learn as much as possible about the subject that you are studying and therefore this has been great. The printed circuit board is not something that I would have thought I would have got enthusiastic about, but it is surprisingly interesting and I even find myself talking to people about interesting facts I have found out about it. I think that I must be turning into a techno geek, but I like it – it is nice having this sort of knowledge about the way that the things we use every day work. I think that I just need to be careful that I do not start talking about this sort of thing when I am with people who are not so interested in the topic or else I may end up being disowned by my friends!

New baby

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

My sister has just announced that she is pregnant and I am so excited. I have been helping her decorate her spare bedroom ready to make it in to a nursery. The other week we went to find the nursery bedding which was great fun. They had such lovely things but I the end she chose something very neutral as she has decided not to find out what it is yet. I have been looking all over the place to try to find a nice gift to buy her and have looked at everything from cuddly toys to Beatrix Potter figurines. However, I have decided that she will probably benefit most from something practical as she is on a tight budget. I have therefore decided to get her a big pack of nappies and wipes, bath things and a baby towel. I will also get a big basket of beauty products for her as I know that she will need to take time to spoil herself as well. I have had great fun looking at all the toys and things like that which are available and I have even given in to temptation and bought myself some lovely Disney collectables which I might pass on to the child as they get older or I may just keep for myself!

Christmas Invitations

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

My Mum always has a great Christmas party and she always makes her own Christmas party invitations to put in with the Christmas cards that she also makes herself. I think that this is a great idea, as most people will find out what date the party is before the invites are sent out so they plan around that date when they make their Christmas arrangements. It is really nice that she works hard to choose an original design each year and I think that all of the family look forward to seeing what she comes up with each time. I think that my favourite Christmas Invitations that she has done had lovely snowmen on but it will vary from Father Christmas to candles, snow scenes to Christmas tress so there is something for everyone. I wonder what she will do this year as the party is actually on New Years Day so she may do something a little less Christmassy this time. Her cards are lovely this year, plain and simple with a white background, green downward stripe and some decoupage poinsettia plants on. Nicely understated.. but original… festive and nicely presented. She tends to do something a bit more fun for the children some snowmen or Christmas characters and I know that my sons are bound to love whatever she does for them as always.

Yarns and needles for knitting

Friday, December 4th, 2009

If you want to be a regular at knitting then right size and amount of knitting needles are important. For different items and yarn you need different sizes of needles. There are three kinds of knitting needles; circular, straight and double pointed. Bamboo, metal, plastic and rose wood needles are most commonly found. Depending on the preference based on smoothness, weight and durability, one can decide on the material of the needle.

But make sure that you have good knitting needle sets so that you can take up any knitting project easily.

Lion brand yarns are good quality knitting and crochet yarns. In America, it is a very popular brand. For light weight baby and adult garments, Light double knit yarn is recommended. Medium worsted weight yarn is mostly used for crocheting and knitting adult garments and throws. Last two categories are chunky and super chunky yarn which are thick yarns and used for heavy weight items like throws, scarves, hats.

Getting Sponsorship

Friday, December 4th, 2009

My son is just putting a band together. It is really exciting for him and his friends and I am trying to support them as much as I can. I know that they are already rehearsing for some events at their school which is really great. I have allowed them to take over the garage as their rehearsal room. It is a big space and has electric in there so they can plug things in. I have noticed that they could do with some equipment and so I am going to see whether the company I work for might sponsor them. They are normally good at doing things like this and I am sure they could come up with the money for some peavey amps and remo drumheads for the boys as they would easily be able to put their company name on them for a bit of advertising and they will not be that expensive compared to some of the other things that they have sponsored in the past. I have heard the boys rehearsing and they sound great so I will be really honoured to make a case for them to my boss and play him a tape of them playing. I hope that he will be impressed as well, I am sure he will be.

Ceramic tiles having low water absorption rate are porcelain tiles and these are used for floor and wall. These tiles are manufactured in USA, China, Italy, Spain, and Turkey. However, Italian Porcelain tiles are among the most superior of porcelain tiles and the most expensive also. These tiles are either polished, glazed and unglazed or matte. The hard tiles are used for home flooring and walls.

One can decorate flooring, either indoors or outdoors, with mosaic tile medallions. These are intricate works of art and lend a beautiful and unique look to any area. Not even flooring, one can even use a mosaic tile medallion for kitchen backsplash, insets in hardwood or laminates. Making a medallion requires cutting small pieces from stones or porcelain and then thousands of such pieces are glued to mesh. There are wonderful colors and designs that one gets to see in medallions and one can get a custom made mosaic tile medallion also.

For those who want to undertake hardwood flooring project themselves few essential wood flooring tools are table saw, circular saw, edge sander, nailers, floor staplers, hammers, pull bars, power jack, flooring scrapers, floor leveling tools etc. installing or repairing a hardwood flooring is a messy job but after completing this project it could give a very satisfying feeling.
